David Russell CarpenterMay 24, 1990 ~ October 1, 2017 (age 27)
David Russell (Putiri) Carpenter passed away in Melbourne, FL on Sunday, 1 October 2017 after battling mightily for nearly a decade. He was 27.
David was born on 24 May 1990 in Rockledge, FL to Amy (Ramsey) Demlow and Army combat veteran Mark David Putiri. David attended Rockledge schools, and always considered himself a true Florida boy.
David is predeceased in death by his grandfather, Philip Vincent Putiri, of Delaware, and his nephew, Joel Raul Colon, of Melbourne, FL.
David leaves behind his children, Dawson Russell Carpenter and Lily Jade Carpenter.
David is also survived by his “Momma” Amy Demlow and step-dad, Ryan Demlow, father Mark Putiri, sisters Nicole (Hector) Colon and Brittany Carpenter, nephews Gadi & Alonso Colon, Randy & Jeremiah Williams, Messiah Floyd and niece Aniya Williams, Uncle Lance Ash of Hereford, England, cousins Marlow and Esmae Ash of Hereford, England, Grandma Sharon Pine, Grandpa Russell Ramsey, Aunt Sherll Passmore, and his loyal companion, his dog Bub. He also leaves behind his many close friends.
David was an articulate, insightful, intelligent, sensitive and incredibly well read young man with many interests. He was generous to a fault and would give you the shirt off his back. He was an old soul from the day he was born. Before his health declined, David’s passions included politics and political debate, history, collecting antique razors, exploring his Germanic and Viking heritage, camping, tattoos, The Atlanta Braves, fishing, listening to his favourite music, and restoring & driving his beloved Silverado. As a young man, David’s passion was baseball. An unfortunate injury cut that short so he set his sights on serving our nation. A rare disease was found in his lungs, and that was the beginning of the end. Although he fought hard, his heart and lungs gave out and took him on his journey to Valhalla.
Services for David will be Thursday, 12 October, 2017 with visitation at 1p, funeral service at 2p and burial at Florida Memorial Gardens immediately following. David requested “come as you are”, no somber sad church clothes.
A celebration of David’s life will be held on Friday, 13 October 2017, from 4p until ??? at McLarty Park in Rockledge.
