Ingrid was born in Brooklyn in 1928 to the late Regnar Jensen and Ingrid Lokdam. She was the devoted wife of the late Hermann G. Thulke. Ingrid was committed to raising three children, but was very involved in the family church youth group, ladies quilting, making youth choir gowns, singing in the adult choir, and spent more than ten years as a Cub Scout leader and Camp Fire Girls leader. She was very crafty with reverse painting, knitting, counted cross stitch and crocheting baby clothes. She was an avid camper, hiker, went on several bicycle trips on Long Island, and loved travelling across the United States and Europe. Most of all, she loved flowers and trying various plantings in the garden. Ingrid is survived by her sons Bill and wife Pam and Peter from New Hampshire, and her daughter Eloise and husband Larry from Virginia. She is also survived by two grandsons and two great grandchildren from New York.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in memory of Mrs. Ingrid Thulke to: Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2025 Washington Ave, Seaford, NY 11783. There is a fund drive for the kitchen. The kitchen holds the most memories for our family. Mom used to work with other mothers on Wednesdays back when we were attending the Lutheran Elementary School providing hotdog lunches. Later she was in there again with the mothers helping us, the church youth group, raise money by having spaghetti dinners and pancake breakfasts. Now the kitchen needs to be replaced in order to keep the day care program running. It has certainly seen MANY generations and served us well.
