Robert Geoffrey Quayle (December 2, 1943 - October 22, 2017)
Losing our Papa: Many mysteries and wonders of the world are beyond our comprehension.
Rob was raised in Florida and returned in 2014 following his retirement from NOAA. He was an Asheville, NC resident from 1965 to 2014. He was a retired climatologist & past lab chief of the National Climatic Data Center’s Global Climate Lab. He also was lead author in the NCDC’s first global land + Sea surface temperature measurement system. Not only was he a brilliant professional, but he also served our country in the Navy.
He was preceded by his wife of 54 years, Jeannie, who died in January 2016; and survived by his 2 daughters, Chris and Sandra, sons-in-law Jan & Kevin; granddaughters Ryanne & Erin; great grandchildren, and many other friends and family members. He was lucky enough to find love again with Sue. We all love him and will miss him very much.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 26th at 12:00 noon, at Atlantic Mortuary, 117 Barton Avenue in Rockledge, Florida (casual attire).
